May 2001 Boston Municipal Court. A 35 year old Boston man is charged with a stop light violation driving a black 2001 BMW 750il series; not responsible at the clerk's hearing.
May 2001 Registry of Motor Vehicles. A 38-year-old Bedford Massachusetts man receives a 60 days suspension letter from the registry of motor vehicles as a result of 7 surchargeable offenses. The appeal was successful in that the client was allowed to reduce the suspension significantly when Attorney Nathan filed a brief in which it was demonstrated to the administrative body hearing the case that the defendant's rights in the District Court had been abrogated.May 2001 Registry of Motor Vehicles. A 19-year-old Boston University student is charged with possession of a fake ID, a felony. Although the registry suspended his license for six months, the license was reinstated after an appeal which took place within 90 days.
May 2001 Registry of Motor Vehicles. A 21-year-old systems analyst for a major computer Corp. had his license suspended for four years for habitual traffic offender. All of the violations which the defendant accumulated took place within a four-month period right after he became licensed. He waited three years to appeal the suspension; at the appeal the driver's license was reinstated.
May 2001 A nineteen year old N.E. University student was caught using a bogus State of Maine License in order to obtain liquor in a Boston Drinking establishment. Although no formal criminal charges were filed the registry moved to suspend his license for 6 months. Attorney Richard Cunha represented Mr. Bertram at the registry hearing to modify the order and return his driving privileges. At the registry hearing the officer refused to hear the case before entering her judgement of no modification. An appeal was filed and at the appeal hearing Attorney Cunha successfully argued on Mr. Bertram's behalf and obtained a modified order which reduced his suspension to half the original suspension. The client was very pleased with the results.
May 2001 Somerville District Court. A 23 year old college graduate is cited for operating to endanger. After an investigation revealed the police cited the wrong man, the complaint did not issue.
May 2001 Registry of Motor Vehicles. A 45 year old sustains a 30 day license loss for 3 tickets in a year. Attorney Nathan had the license reinstated immediately without a waiting period at the appeal.
May 2001 Plymouth District Court. A 32 year-old man from Cambridge is cited twice for speeding and tracking a state police vehicle on two dates. One case was marked for trial and the other for a hearing when counsel was retained; the trial matter was remanded for further hearing. At the hearing all matters were dismissed and the operator was found not responsible.
