What Do We Do? How Much Does it Cost?

When appearing before a clerk magistrate to appeal a civil motor vehicle infraction (CMVI) such as a speeding ticket, our lawyers have extensive experience in each District Court where the appeal is heard. As a result, the best possible result often happens: Not Responsible. See cases results >>

We can also successfully appeal before a Judge if this is required. The attorneys covering the Commonwealth of Massachusetts have over 10 years experience in the individual District Court, and many are former court or law enforcement officials prior to entering law school. Attorney Nathan guides each lawyer in this process. Attorney Nathan will also regularly appear in Court throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on behalf of motorists and he is respected by court officials for his advocacy and his persuasive skills.

The fee for hiring a lawyer to represent you at the magistrate hearing will easily exceed the cost of the ticket.

Fees start at a minimum of $950 (for reinstatement of hearing rights), fees for basic speeding ticket defense are $1500. Fees for other traffic offenses, operating to endanger, driver's license appeals, and related matters are dependent on the circumstances and will be discussed with Attorney Nathan on a case by case basis. We will meet existing on-line competitor's prices for criminal matters under certain conditions.  Please ask for further details during consultation.

Why? Fighting a straight speeding ticket is not easy. It requires experience and familiarity with the magistrate proceeding. A lawyer may travel to the court and present your case using his experience and training. This is not cheap. People wishing to fight these cases see the cost of hiring a lawyer in relation to the total situation. Three speeding fines in one year can result in a suspension of your driver's license, this along with high insurance costs and other considerations make fighting a ticket worth it. A single speeding ticket may cost you nearly $500-$1000 in insurance surcharges per year, a single ticket may therefore cost you $3000 or more.

The main office for Speedingticketdefense is located two blocks from the Registry of Motor Vehicles/Division of Insurance. Our lawyers therefore have an easy and direct location near where the hearings are scheduled for all drivers license matters. Affiliated offices are also located throughout Massachusetts, serving nearly every court.
